Remember that all drugs have non-proprietary or generic names, which are recognized internationally, and also brand names. Several Pharmaceutical companies may sell a particular non-proprietary drug, but may have created their own brand name.

Not all Antidepressants mentioned are suitable for children.

Some Antidepressants are contra-indicated for the elderly or for those suffering from certain illness or health problems, such as diabetes, heart, liver or thyroid disease.

It is very dangerous to exceed the dose prescribed.

If you are worried that the depression patient has stopped taking their Antidepressants, signs of withdrawal can include nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, weakness, sweating, fatigue, headache and anxiety.

Older Antidepressants have been shown to be just as effective as newer drugs on the market, although newer Antidepressants drugs may have fewer side-effects.
